Pets Corner . . . .
Hi everyone . . . I am Freddie Flea.
I wanted to tell all you great pet owners about my
relatives. They can create problems for you and your
pets now the weather is getting better and they
are venturing out on your pets and in your homes.
They never had it so good!
Here are my top tips to keep everyone happy!
Freddie’s Top Tips for Flea Control
Treat your pet regularly for fleas throughout the
year. A wide variety of products are available -
Speak to your veterinary surgeon or pet store to see
which is best for you and your pet . . . .
Treat your home if necessary ( last year people who didn’t even own a pet found they had unwelcome visitors in their homes due to the weather)
Vacuum whole house, dispose of hoover bags (they love it in their), wash pet bedding or treat them to a new one!
Prevention is better than cure – keep up with treatments ALL year long
Q. How do I know if my pet has fleas?
A. Scratching, rubbing face excessively, possible
Hair loss, flea dirt (dried blood) can be seen on the coat.
Q. Do fleas stay on the pet all the time?
A. NO! They only get on pets (or you!) for a meal,
The majority of the time they live and breed in your home and furnishings.
Q. My pet scratches but I can’t see any fleas
A. As fleas don’t spend all their time on the pet you may not see them.
Many pets are particularly sensitive to flea saliva which can cause a skin
reaction to even just one flea bite.
