Meet the team . . . .

Jonathan Webster

Jonathan joined our team in the autumn of 2007. You will hear him presenting the Good News programme some Sunday mornings.

His BIG magazine show WEBSTER’S WEEK is Friday’s ‘Afternoon Delight’ from noon to 3 pm featuring - Reviews, Interviews, Comment and News. He is also part of the Friday evening News Team.

Here's a little bit of me . . . .

Favourite Track . . .

The Inca Trail - not a music track but an ancient ‘track’ in Peru . . For music - Zadok the Priest, the coronation anthem, by Handel 1685-1759

Favourite Artist . . .

Michelangelo ... but I guess this means musical so it has to be Millie Small (I bet that comes as a surprise)

Favourite Hobby . . .

All disclosed in my profile. I wish I could call Hospital Radio Wey a hobby but it’s more like a full time occupation!

Favourite Film . . .

I can't choose between: The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965) and The American President (1995)

Favourite Person . . .

Family aside; Theo Paphetis and Jeremy Paxman vie for the top spot. In history - Don Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar (El Cid) and St Ignatius of Loyola are my favourites.

Jonathan lives close to the River in Sunbury on Thames and is Director of The Ministry of Care, a registered charity, providing training and guidance in pastoral care in the community. He is the author of ‘ A Guidebook for The Ministry of Care” (first published 1996) and writes for several publications. An experienced broadcaster, in the mid nineties he wrote, produced and directed Care FM’s popular twice daily radio programme, ‘Message for Today’.

Jonathan is a cordon-blue cook and his other interests include travel - often to out of the way locations, cartoons - which he admits are sometimes scurrilous - and puppets.

He was the first chairman of The Kenya Wildlife Trust and travelled extensively in East Africa including riding a horse halfway up Mount Meru and diving with dolphins in the Indian Ocean.
