Meet the team . . . .

Andy Brown

Andy has been involved with the station for over 20 years and though he does not currently present a weekly programme, he is on the rota to present the Saturday SportScene.

He also enjoys presenting from the outside broadcasts that the station appears at as well as interviews the crowds and personalities who turn up when we are out and about. He originally started presenting, in the “shoebox” studios at the old Weybridge Hospital, the St Peters Maternity Request Show on Sunday afternoons which he did for a number of years. When collecting the requests, he was asked why he wasn’t wearing a white coat when he was once mistaken for a doctor by one of the new mums as well as being handed the babies by other mothers when all he wanted was their request for a record.

He enjoys all types of “easy listening” music and has also been known to tread the boards by partaking in local amateur dramatics. He prefers the comedy roles as well as playing various parts in pantomimes though he has never been the back end of the pantomime horse not yet.

Along with Jan Mathews, he helps compile our weekly Artists Request Chart based on all the record requests received at the station. This chart is presented each week and used by the station to see the type of music our listeners are asking for.
